A friend of mine was recently charged with drunk driving by law enforcement in the Houston area. When he called me for help to bond him out of jail when he was making his way through processing at the Harris County jail I immediately knew something was wrong, because my friend doesn’t drink.
After we bonded him out, he told me that he was not drinking and the police pulled him over for speeding and accused him of driving under the influence, or DUI.
After further talking with my friend about his ordeal he admitted that he had taken some prescription medication before getting behind the will and driving his vehicle in an attempt to run a few errands.
I was hoping that if he could find it decent DWI lawyer in Houston that he would be able to beat the case. In any case, there is an important lesson to be learned here.
You don’t have to be drunk driving to be arrested and jailed for DUI offense in the Houston area.
